COURSE INFORMATION
At New Era Institute, we offer a package of two aged care and community services courses from our campus in Sydney, NSWÂ the Certificate IV in Ageing Support and Diploma of Community Services. Both courses are nationally recognised, vocationally focused qualifications designed for people who want to start or progress their career in the field of community services and aged care.
CHC43015 - Certificate IV in Ageing Support (CRICOS Code 108239B)
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services, either in residential, home, or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation, and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification at New Era Institute, students must complete a total of 160 hours of work in a nursing home, community services or home care/aged care facilities.

CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services (CRICOS Code 108240J)
This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management, and social housing workers involved in managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centered services to individuals, groups and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management, program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.
To achieve this qualification, you must have completed a mandatory 260 hours of work placement.

Career Pathways from the Qualification
Once you complete this course, you will be qualified to work as a community services worker, family support worker, client services manager, community development officer, case manager, service manager, and/or program coordinator.
