At New Era Institute, we offer Advanced Diploma of IT courses with two specialisations:

  • Cyber Security
  • Telecommunications Network Engineering

Both course streams are structured to reflect the requirements and responsibilities across a range of information and communication technology roles. The course will provide you with in-demand technical skills including programming, cyber security, cloud computing and business analysis. Beyond that, it will also provide you with a range of business and people management skills that are vital for managing tech teams and leading complex projects. The Advanced Diploma will prepare you to carry out complex IT tasks within your specialist field and use your expertise to drive projects and direct business strategy.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


There are no specified entry requirements for this qualification specified within the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

Noting this, New Era Institute requires persons who undertake this course to:

For International Students

    • Have attained the age  of 18 years or over
    • Demonstrate good command of written and spoken English
    • Verified evidence of IELTS Level 5.5 or equivalent
    • Have completed an equivalent secondary schooling level of a Higher School Certificate (year 12 in Australian schools) or can demonstrate suitable work or life experience
    • Meet the Student Visa (Sub-class 500) requirements
COURSE STRUCTURE

ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology is a nationally recognised qualification.

At the time of enrolment, students may get to choose one of these two specialisations:

1 - Cyber Security

2- Telecommunications Network Engineering

The packaging rules consist of 16 units ( 6 core units  and 10 elective units)

COURSE DURATION


Duration: 104 weeks (80 weeks’ tuition and 24 weeks’ breaks between terms)

Class sessions: 20 hours per week

Please note, to complete your course, you will need to have access to a computer and internet. New Era Institute encourages students to bring their own devices to the campus (where there is free wireless internet access).

After achieving this qualification, you may choose to undertake Bachelor of Information Technology or other Bachelor Degree or other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS


The enrolment form should be completed in full and submitted by emailing Admissions Department. Email: admissions@newerainstitute.edu.au The enrolment form must be accompanied by:
    1. A copy of passport and
    2. Student Visa (Onshore Students Only)
    3. Certified copies of English proficiency (must be obtained within the last 2 years, if required)
    4. Certified copies of Academic Transcripts and Certificates
    5. Complete Student Enrolment Form
    6. Read International Student Handbook on the website
    7. Send Enrolment Form to New Era Institute
    8. NEI representative/Agent will contact you to collect documents for GTE assessment
Successful Student Visa If your student visa application is approved, you should contact New Era Institute and provide evidence of approval. New Era Institute will contact you to confirm your timetable, start date and all other arrangements for your study with New Era Institute. Unsuccessful Student Visa If your student visa application is NOT approved, you must contact New Era Institute and advise us and apply in writing for a refund of all fees paid in accordance with our Fees and Refund Policy. COURSE - CREDIT TRANSFER


Students can apply for credit transfer where there is an exact match of the units of competency within the course achieved through an accredited VET qualification in an approved registered training organisation (RTO).

FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
If RPL/credit transfer is approved, the student’s Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) will be adjusted to reflect any reduction in the period of study the student is enrolled in. The study load will remain the scheduled 20 hours per week as per the student visa requirements.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING


Students can apply for recognition of their existing skills and knowledge that are relevant to the units of competency within the course. These skills and knowledge may have been obtained through workplace training or experience and may reduce the number of units required to be completed during the course.

FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
