COURSE INFORMATION

At New Era Institute, we offer both the Certificate III and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Both courses are nationally recognised, vocationally focused qualifications designed for people who want to start or progress their career in child care and early education. We offer both child care courses from our Windsor campus in New South Wales, Australia.

Both the Certificate III and the Diploma cover the fundamentals of early childhood development, education and caring for children 6 years and under. The courses are based on the National Quality Framework and Early Years Framework and emphasise play-based learning. Through these courses, you’ll gain the skills and experience to provide care and education for children in a range of settings.

Both courses combine face-to-face classroom learning with practical work placements. New Era Institute can help you find placements through our extensive network of industry contacts. If you already work in child care, we encourage placement with your existing employer and can work with your employer to ensure they meet the requirements necessary for assessment.

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is an introductory course for those looking to start a career in early childhood education or childcare. Through a combination of classroom and practical learning and work placements, you will gain the skills and expertise to work as a childcare and education provider.

You will gain an understanding of the legal and policy requirements, learn to engage with children and their parents, learn to facilitate play and stimulate creativity and growth and foster children’s development and wellbeing.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will qualify you to work at a senior level in a variety of childcare settings. The course is suitable for someone who has already completed Certificate III and is looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

The Diploma includes components on curriculum planning and programming, childcare policy and compliance, staff supervision and management, fostering childhood development and more.

This is a nationally recognised qualification that’s in demand and highly regarded by employers.
