This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities.
They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

COURSE LOCATION and DURATION
The RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design is structured to be delivered in 104 weeks (80 weeks of tuition sessions and 24 weeks of terms breaks).

Education Pathway:
Once students have completed the RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, they will be able to seek employment or continue their studies into higher education in construction, civil engineering, or any other field of their choice.

EXIT POINT:
Students must complete all 12 units to achieve competency in RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design. Students who do not complete this course may receive an academic record as per the institute’s Policies and Procedures.
CREDIT TRANSFER
Students can apply for credit transfer where there is an exact match of the units of competency within the course achieved through an accredited VET qualification in an approved registered training organisation (RTO).
FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
If RPL/credit transfer is approved, the student’s Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) will be adjusted to reflect any reduction in the period of study the student is enrolled in. The study load will remain the scheduled 20 hours per week as per the student visa requirements.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Students can apply for recognition of their existing skills and knowledge that are relevant to the units of competency within the course. These skills and knowledge may have been obtained through workplace training or experience and may reduce the number of units required to be completed during the course.
