Registration and orientation are the essential first step for New Era Institute students to ensure they clearly understand their visa conditions for studying in Australia, what is required for a successful educational experience, including maintaining course progress and other requirements.

The orientation session is conducted for a minimum of 45 minutes at the campus. Attendance of this session is mandatory to all new students. Who is unable to attend, please contact us immediately to avoid being reported for non commencement.

On the first day at New Era Institute, students attend registration and orientation:

    • Registration to complete as required using New Era Institute forms
    • Welcome session including meeting key New Era Institute staff
    • Overview of life in Australia
    • Academic and general administrative matters
    • Work placement requirements 
    • New Era Institute policies & requirements for satisfactory course progress
    • Student visa conditions overview
    • Grievance procedures
    • Maintaining current contact information
    • How to apply for a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
    • How to access the Wifi at the campus and the e-learning platform 
    • Student ID card and Printer Card
    • OSHC card (if this has been arranged by New Era Institute)
    • Uniform and kit (subject to type of course enrolled in)
    • Textbook (subject to type of course enrolled in)
